Join Us in the Fight Against 4H Leukodystrophy! Yaya Foundation Announces End-of-Year Campaign

For five years, the Yaya Foundation for 4H Leukodystrophy has stayed true to its mission: to provide hope by accelerating the discovery of therapies through research and providing education and emotional support for families.

2023 has proved to be a remarkable year for the Foundation. Some highlights include:

  1. We supported the successful development of a mouse model at McGill University Health Centre by Dr. Geneviève Bernard and her team. These findings were published in the prestigious Brain publication and this model will be used to potentially develop 4H Leukodystrophy therapies.
  2. We awarded Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia a grant for Biomarker Research to help in the diagnosis and understanding of 4H Leukodystrophy.
  3. We hosted the foundation’s first in-person family and scientific conference, with 100 clinicians, researchers, and families in attendance.

As we look ahead, the Yaya Foundation is optimistic about the progress and scientific breakthroughs that are currently being made and is more dedicated than ever to our community.

To help us in the fight against 4H Leukodystrophy, Yaya Foundation is announcing an ambitious $250,000 end-of-year fundraising campaignEvery dollar helps us get closer to our goal: to identify therapies for 4H Leukodystrophy and to be there for families on their journey.

We hope that you will support us during this important time in the foundation’s history as we look towards the next five years with hope.
